A Cinderella Story, Literally!

Today over at Kelly's Korner she is doing "Show us your Life", How you met your husband. There are some really cute stories listed. So here is my "Cinderella" story...kind of!

Ryan and I grew up in the same small town in East Texas. He was two years older than me. Looking back I know we were always around each other, but we didn't "know" each other. His sister danced at the same studio I did, football games, etc. I really met him while he was dating one of my good friends, older sister. I remember we were at Lake Sam Rayburn. My parents were out of town and I was staying with my friend for the weekend at her family's lake house. Ryan was dating said friends sister, and came down to the lake to be with her. That was our first actual introduction, sure we had seen each other around, but now we knew each other. I remember the whole weekend Ryan had to drive us around on the boat. Since he was older he was just so put out , by all the younger girls annoying him! HA HA! After that weekend I didn't see him for a few months.

Ryan....

Kelly....

Time passed quickly, and his previous relationship ended. One steamy August night a few girl friends and I were driving around our neighborhood. We stopped at Anderson elementary school parking lot to talk to some friends, somehow or another I lost one of my shoes?!? I was dark and I couldn't find the shoe, we had to race home to my friend Jenny's house because it was almost 9:00! At the time a few of us had licences, but they required we stop driving at 9:00 p.m. We zoomed home in "Cherry", Dana's red sunbird convertible. Please tell me we are not the only people who named our cars?

When we arrived home at Jenny's we were talking outside. Her neighbor a friend of ours was also outside and he happened to have a friend over visiting, and that friend was Ryan.

Ryan and I started talking and I told him about my shoe getting lost and us having to leave in a hurry etc..... He offered to take me back up to the parking lot to look for my shoe. So this is how I met my prince charming, he literally found my missing shoe!! Note: This was 1995 and the shoe may or may not have been a jelly maryjane. A hideous trend at the time that I don't recall participating in, but can't totally deny.

The following night Ryan called me, we talked on the phone for hours!!! I know people will think I am crazy, but I told my friends that night, that I was going to marry him. And I did!! We starting dating when I was 15 and Ryan was 17 and have been together since. We made it through some difficult times that only made us stronger. We got married on October 13, 2001. He is the love of my life!! I thank God everyday for him, he is truly my Prince Charming!!

We have been together for 15 years!! Married for 8, almost 9! Love ya Babe!!
