Memorial Weekend at Rough Creek!

After school on Friday we headed to Rough Creek to spend Memorial Weekend with Big B and SuSu! We had some work to do, as usual. Poor Ryan, I know he is wondering if there will ever be a day that he can go there and just enjoy it, instead of working! I was so excited about my new range! I got a Wolf range that is just fabulous!! I told Ryan I may never leave now, which he was thrilled about, HA!!

On Saturday morning we drove to Tyler for our friend Abram's birthday!! He had his party at the Kids Depot, the boys had never been there and were really excited!

Barrett had tons of fun climbing and playing with his friends. I thought Jack would be nervous, but Oh No!! He took off and I couldn't find him most of the time!! HA!!
Barrett and Keatyn!
Happy 6th Bday Abram! They boys had so much fun!!

After the party Mom and I ran some errands and had lunch in Tyler, but the boys were anxious to get back to Rough Creek and WORK!!! What's new! Ryan was working on the carport getting it ready to pour the concrete. They were also working an area where we have a drainage problem. Ryan decided to make the area like a rock river, it's going to look very good.

Big B and Barrett working hard chopping the lightern pine they found in the woods.

Sweet dirty boys!!

We all had a great weekend! We got a call on Sunday morning from Ryan's family. They told us that our dear Pappy, Ryan's grandfather, had passed away. Pappy had a stroke a few weeks ago and had been in ICU in Houston. They brought him home and he passed shortly after. He will be greatly missed, but he is in a much better place with the love of his life and our Lord.

Happy Memorial Day!!!!

Last Day of Kindergarten!

On Friday my sweet boy had his last day of Kindergarten!! How did this happen?? This year flew by way to fast!!
It really wasn't much of a day, the class party was 9:30 and after the party the kids were free to leave. Jack and headed up to the school to get the party ready! I so much enjoyed being the "room mom" this year!! I cherished the opportunity to be so involved with my son's school and classroom.

The party was fun, just a whole bunch of excited, sugared up kiddos!!

Barrett had a really great year! Mrs. Petty was such a patient and kind teacher!! We really enjoyed having her!
My big boy is now a first grader!!!

Baseball Game & Storms!

On Tuesday the 24th we had another tball game, we played the Red Sox. Jack of course was in his usual attire, a backwards baseball helmet!?! The child is just obsessed with wearing hats, most all hats, but especially helmets! HA!!

I didn't take many pictures, it was a late game which was hard on Jack. Then the weather took a turn for the worse. The lightning was just terrible so we had to end the game early. No worries though, the Longhorns came through VICTORIOUS again!! Go Longhorns!!

Way to play boys!!

Silly Boys!

The Monday after our big adventure was a busy day! I had to go work on the lounge at one of the schools, so Anna watched Jack for me. I also had a dermatologist appt. where I had two spots removed, YUCK!! When I got home Anna told me the funniest story about Jack. She said that she put him down for his nap and he went right to sleep like usual. When she went in to wake him up so they could pick Barrett up from school, she couldn't find him. He was not in the bed or in his room, or so she thought. She said she was frantic and looked in his closet to find this...........................

HA! How funny is this he has done this before! Such a silly boy!

We also had to go have Barrett's stitches removed that afternoon. He was a little nervous about it, but we had spoken with him and assured him that the hard part was over, this would be easy. Here is my big boys having his stitches removed.
Well, it turned out that it did hurt a little bit. The nurse said that the Dr. had tied the stitches extra tight and they kind of grew into the skin a bit. So after some work we got them all out!! Yea, B-man!!!!

Road Trip Weekend

On Friday the 20th of May, we headed out on our first roadtrip in the motorhome!! Ryan had called me on Friday afternoon and said let's head to the Lufkin Baseball playoff game in Houston and then we can go to Kemah. I thought it sounded great so I frantically packed us all up and we headed out!!

The drive to Houston was great the boys watched movies with popcorn and both took naps, this motorhome thing was starting out great!! We got the the game during the 3rd inning, the Panther's won that game and went on to play a second game right after. It was drizzling rain and pretty miserable, so Ryan took the boys to the motorhome (see coming in handy again). Lufkin lost the second game and was eliminated, they played hard though. After the game, we grabbed Kolby and we headed toward Kemah. The boys and I slept the whole way there, I woke up and Ryan had found us a perfect spot in the R.V. resort, it was right on the bay.

I will admit, I was extremely skeptical about the whole RVing thing, the parks, the people, the stigma. I was eating my words!! The park was really nice and it is actually very convenient to do with kids.

We woke up the next morning and headed to the Kemah Boardwalk to play!

We had SO much fun! I talked Barrett in to actually riding alot of rides with me!! He was nervous, but he did it. On the first "real" ride, not kiddie ride, he was like "Mom, I'm getting dizzy!!" I couldn't help but laugh!! He kept saying it and all I could say was "DO NOT throw up!!" HA!!! The boys rode the carousel, space needle and train. Barrett and I did the high flying swings and this crazy spinning thingy. Ryan and Kolby were scaredy cats and wouldn't ride anything! We had lunch at the Cadillac Bar and then played some games. We headed home for a nap for Jack and fishing for B.

Barrett had such fun fishing and met a little boy that he friended and they fished all afternoon together. Later that evening Ryan's sister and her family, who were in Pasadena at a baseball tourney, drove down to visit and have dinner with us. To make it a family affair we called Ryan's mom who was still in Houston at the hospital with our sweet Pappy, and she took a break and drove down for dinner too!

We had dinner at Landry's, it was so yummy! During dinner the restaurant had "entertainment" a magic man. He came to our table and did tricks for the boys and made all 8 of them balloon animals!!

The next day we loaded up and headed home, we stopped in Lufkin to have lunch with my family and drop Kolby off at home.

Chrisite and Mim's were in Lufkin too, it was so fun for all the kiddos to see each other! Here are Christie (Millie) & I!!!
Such a fun weekend!!! My husband has converted me, I am no longer anti R.V.!!!! First Road Trip was a huge success!!!

Rodeo Day at School

Barrett had Rodeo day at school not to long ago and I am just now finishing up blogging from WEEKS ago!! HA!! Here is my sweet cowboy!

Here he is holding his hat over his heart for the national anthem and prayer, I love that he knows what to do without being told. In fact he was instructing his classmates on the proper etiquette. :)

It was a fun day, but pretty much a replay of the night before. Oh well!! Here are the boys with a few of the "Cowgirl Chicks" they are a trick riding group, they are really good!!
Barrett insisted on coming home with us and not staying at school, I gave in and let him, it was Friday and the year was almost over. So we played hooky and had a nice lunch with our friend/babysitter Anna! It was a good thing that I brought him home because Ryan called and suggested that we take our first road trip in the new motorhome, more to come on that!

Rodeo & Mutton Bustin'

Thursday the Lindale Rodeo started, and it was kids night! I had asked Barrett if he wanted to do mutton bustin'? He said yes, so I jumped on the chance and signed him up!! We got all decked out in our rodeo duds and headed out.

How cute are those little cowboys!! LOVE!

Look closely, that is my little cowboy hanging off the side of that animal! HA!! Let's just say we are going to stick with baseball and hunting! I was just so proud that he did it, if you know my shy, firstborn son you would understand!! Way to go B!!!

Daddy was right there waiting to help dust him off!!

Sweet Boys!!

A fun night with friends!!

They had another kids event, the money grab!! Kids 6 and under could run around collecting dollar bills. Barrett has passed on doing this event EVERY year in the past!! This year he ran right out to do it. Well, Jack threw a fit and wanted to go, HA!! I put him over the fence and off he ran!! I think he was the youngest one out there!! He is so the second child.

We actually knew this bronc rider, he is the son of a friend from Lufkin. Small world!

It was a crazy, wild night!! Love my Boys!!
