Thanksgiving Weekend at the Lease

On Wednesday we loaded up early to head to North Texas for the Thanksgiving holiday!  Another weekend at the deer lease....just what I was dreaming of. Just kidding, maybe.....

No, really I enjoy it.  Minus the fact that I don't have Internet or any kind of civilization for MILES!!  But really though...I love seeing my boys in their element, and just look at these beautiful open skies!

My little hunters up bright and early ready to go!!
Or maybe not....Jack decided he was a little tired and took a little nap while I hunted.
These two come up with some crazy ideas...love their imaginations.  This is them hunting in a tree.
Barrett and I had a ton of hogs come to our stand....now he loves this because he love to shoot things. As terrible as that sounds, hogs are a nuisance animal and we do try to get rid of them.  So, Barrett was glad to see them come out.  It was funny because we didn't take his gun that night I only took my guns, he asked if he could shoot my gun.  I said sure....now it may kick a bit more that your, but you will be fine. He shot and was knocked back quite a bit!  He said, MOM...that thing has fire shooting out of the end! I'm done with that! HA!!!  He still wanted to kill some so when they came back out I shot a couple.

On Thursday I didn't hunt...I had to get our Thanksgiving feast prepared.  Let me say that cooking in trailers is not ideal...one oven and a small little stove will make you get creative!  We pulled it together and had a great lunch!!  After lunch the boys wanted to fish.......

We had such fun!  Jack threw his line out and caught his first fish!!!  Yea Jack!!

I even got in on the action.....

My treasure hunter found all of these turtle shells....I swear this child will "collect" anything!

On Friday Jeff and Cole joined us for the weekend.....Cole killed this awesome 12pt!!!

Way to go Cole!!!

I didn't do the best job with pictures this trip....to busy enjoying myself I guess!  We had a great Thanksgiving and we have SO much to be grateful for!!!  Tons of great memories made....We are so blessed!!!

Poetry Feast

Before the Thanksgiving holidays Barrett's class had their poetry feast.  The kids had a program where they each memorized a poem to present to the class and parents.

Jack was excited to be there and was a big help, HA!

The parents all ready to hear the poems......

The kids singing their thanksgiving song........

Barrett reciting his poem....he did GREAT!!  He said he wasn't nervous at all...I'll admit, I was....just a little.  He remember his whole poem and read with enthusiasm!

Next up was the feast!

It was a fun day with my boys!  I cherish these times and being able to volunteer in their classrooms.
Great Job Barrett!!

Teacher Tailgate & Football Game

On Friday November 9th we had a "tailgating lunch" for the teacher at Barrett's school.  My friend Amanda, came up with this great idea for a tailgating lunch for the teacher's for the last football game.  Since we already help with the tailgating events for the actual football games....I thought let's just use the trailer rig that Ryan has set up!  The day was perfect for it, beautiful warm weather great for a fun day outside.

Amy, one of our very talented parents made these precious football cookies.....

Amanda made these precious individual banana puddings for the staff......

We set the tent up for the teacher to eat under.......

The trailer worked perfect we set it up like a serving buffet.

Some more of our GREAT parents donated this cute blue and white popcorn treats!

My sweet husband who was gracious enough to help us and got everything set up!

Jesse THE football tailgate man, came to cook for our wonderful staff!!  Thanks Jesse!

Leslie, Amanda and I......the tailgating girls.

Here are some of our fabulous teacher enjoying their fun lunch!

After the tailgating event was our last football game of the season.  We were playing the Nacogdoches Dragons who coincidentally were our old rivals from Lufkin when I was in high school.

It was a special night for us...the Athletic Booster Association was honoring Ryan and the dealerships for all the support we give to the football team.  We were taken to the center of the field and given a plaque of appreciation.

We LOVE being able to support our community and the schools!  We are very thankful for the award and recognition, it is our pleasure!  I just love our community and how everyone is so close knit and involved.  We are truly blessed!

I will say that being on the field really brought back some good memories....I was reliving my drill team days and I almost busted out into the Panther Pride strut!! HA!!! Give me my sequined purple hat and I'm ready!!

We started his day with birthday cinnamon rolls........

Blowing out his candles, err candle, err votive.....just keeping it real!!

Jack and I went to have lunch with Barrett at his school..........

and then we celebrated outside on the playground with his class!  I think the kids liked the cookie cake, I got a lot of "your the best mom ever" comments.

Barrett's birthday fell during the week and we had a hunting weekend planned for the weekend....{Barrett told me he WOULD not miss hunting} so we had his party on his actual bday at Double Dave's Pizza.
