Busy weekend!

We had a busy, fun Saturday in Lufkin. We started out the day at the zoo.

My kiddos like the Lufkin zoo better than our zoo because it has a train! Ha!! Who cares about the animals right?!?

Here is Barrett with his Lindale Eagle!

The peacocks run around everywhere, the kids were not sure about them at first but they warmed up to them!!

Look at this beautiful white one, we think it's an albino peacock. Mary Michael called it a princess peacock!

Mimsy & Jack!

Riding the train!! Yea!!

We had a great time!! The kids played on the playground.....

and begged to ride the train again! Ha!

Later that afternoon we had the wonderful Kylie Tyer take the kids pictures. I will post those when I get them! Can't wait!!

On Sunday morning before we headed home to Lindale we ate donuts from our favorite place, Shipley's!!

The boys and I decided to drive through Palestine on our way home and check what Daddy and Big B had done at the cabin over the weekend.

Stone work on the columns!

The fireplace stone work has started!!

What a great weekend!! Love my family!!

God is SO Great!!

This week has been busy, scary and ended being great, thanks to answered prayers from our awesome God!!

This past Thursday I had a checkup with my Dr. for my annual exam. He was very pleased with my weight loss, I will do another post on that soon, just not ready yet! Ha!! Anyhow, he was concerned about a mass or lump he found on my right breast {sorry if this is TMI}!! He immediately asked me about my family history and if there was breast cancer, yes. So he told me that I would need to go have a mammogram and diagnostic testing. I was kind of in shock, I was thinking I am 31, is this really happening?!? My grandmother was in her 40's when she was diagnosed. So the appointment was scheduled for Friday. I immediately called my Mom and asked her to come up to help me with Jack while I went to the appointment, she graciously drove straight here!

I admit, I really wasn't that nervous at first; I just talked to God and gave it all to him. A calm washed over me and it's like I knew everything was going to be fine, but then I would think maybe I'm being to optimistic? My family did a great job of comforting me & letting me know what ever happened we would get through it!! My main concern was naturally, my sweet boys; they need me, they are so young! I just banished those thoughts from my head and vowed to think only postitive thoughts!! So bright and early Friday morning, my Mom, Jack and I headed to the Dr's office. When we arrived they told me, your Mom & Son might want to leave and pick you up later, it could take a while. Fear set in just a little. I went in and had the mammogram, then waited while the Radiologist read it. They then called me back for an ultrasound which made me extra nervous because the must have seen something, Right?? Thankfully, PTL the doctor came in looked and told me he saw nothing to worry about!!! Oh sweet relief!!! God is so Great!! I know that there are so many people struggling with cancer at this very moment and I can't imagine the struggle they face daily. Life is so fragile and precious, this little scare has really brought that to the forefront of my thoughts. Thanks to everyone who was praying for me, prayers were answered!!

After the Doctor we picked Barrett up from school and headed down to Lufkin for a visit!
The boys were so excited to get out on the golf course, and most of all see Christie & Mary Michael!!

This little man hadn't played in a while but he hit some great drives!!! Friday started out with worry, but ended up being a truly great day!!!

Our First night at Rough Creek

This past Saturday night, we spent our first night at Rough Creek!! The boys were SO excited!! It is not complete yet, but they couldn't wait any longer!! We still have to finish the cabinets in the kitchen & the stone on the fireplace. My parents cabin is complete, and they stayed the night also.

Here are my boys watching a movie before bed!! They have never slept in the same bed, but they did great!!

Here is our room...we still have to hang pics and decorate, but we are almost there!!
It was a great first night for everyone!! The boys were up bright and early, ready to play!!

Barrett has started driving the ranger by himself!! I was watching him thinking, " how has this happened?" He is growing up WAY to fast!!

We enjoyed a beautiful SUNday! We all got a little to much sun, ha!!

It was a great weekend with the family!! I know it is just the beginning of many wonderful weekends at Rough Creek!!

Canton Friday

On Friday my Mom and Christie were here for a visit!! We were meeting Leeanne in Canton for a girls shopping trip. I had asked Ryan to bring me something to drive because we were going to have a few other people with us, and with all the carseats we wouldn't fit in my ride. My hilarious husband sent this ........

Yes, that is a 15 passenger van!! Bahaaa!!! I think he thought we were doing some serious shopping!! My other riders didn't end up going so we had a BIG ride all to ourselves!!

These two enjoyed the ride on the bus!! HA!!

We were strolling around Canton and I looked up and saw Caroline!! I screamed at her and probably scared her to death!! HA!! I told her who I was, a twitter/blog friend and she was so sweet!! Her and her Mom are just precious!!! I love meeting blog and twitter friends in real life, so fun!!

Christie and Leeanne were looking for baby bedding for the new bundles of joy!! I found the PERFECT bunk beds for the boys room at Rough Creek!! This is a picture of a picture, and it will be a twin over full. I think it will be just perfect!!!

Mims and Jack decided to forgo the strollers and ride in SuSu's canton cart!!

We all had lunch at the famous "Dairy Palace", it was YUM as always!!! We didn't come close to filling the van up, but it was a very fun day!!!

Stephen Fite Fieldtrip

Last Tuesday, Barrett had a field trip for a Stephen Fite concert. Ashley and I met the kiddos at the Caldwell Auditorium. The concert was just about what I expected it would be, but I enjoyed spending the day with my sweet boy!!

We were at the back! There were tons of kiddos, it was LOUD and CRAZY!!! It was a GROOVY themed learning adventure.

After the concert we signed the boys out and took them to lunch at Chick Fil A. They wanted ice cream for dessert so we headed to our fav, Orange Leaf!! We happened to run into our friend Beth and her daughter there. The kiddos had a blast playing together there, and the yogurt was delish!!!

Abram and B!!! Yes these crazy boys were on top of my car!! We were waiting to pick up the little boys and they climbed out the sunroof!! With boys, it's never dull!!

After we had all the boys we headed over to my friend Leslie's for a Matilda Jane trunk show! Matilda Jane is a girls clothing company that has a cult following, HA!! Now, I'm sure you are wondering why us boy Moms were going to a girls clothing show?? Well they have fabulous Mommy clothes too!! I got some precious things!! My boys had a blast playing with Leslie and Ashley's boys, Jack was covered in mud!!! It was a great day!!!

Floors at Rough Creek

Last Sunday we drove down to Rough Creek to see the finished floors!! It is so exciting that we are getting so close to RC being completed!!!!! We even moved the first piece of furniture in, our bed!! HA!! I find it fitting seeing how my wonderful husband has worked SO hard on the place!!

The fire place is ready to be put in!! It is HUGE!!

Our bed is in!! I can't believe we will be able to sleep there soon!!

The boys had a blast as usual and were covered in RED clay!!!

Take me out to the Ball Game

Last Wednesday we drove to Tyler to watch Uncle Kolby play against Tyler Lee. I love that it is baseball season again!!

Barrett was all about trying to catch the foul balls. He patiently waited on his perch above the stands, unfortunately he never got one.

We met Nana at the game, she was finally feeling a little better after a week of two different types of flu!!

Kolby had a great hit at the beginning of the game that we missed. He had got another good hit later and brought in a few runs!!

Lufkin won 10 - 0!!! Go Panthers!!!
