Crisis Averted

Well, apparently the search was not in vain......Zhu Zhu pets are safe! Yes, I am one the the crazy people who tried to accomplish the mission of acquiring some of these untouchable little creatures. Best of all I succeeded. Give me something to shop for and tell me I can't find it, and I shall!

I found a two of these rodents and a plastic home for them a couple of weeks ago, and what did I wake up to not so long ago. Every parents dreaded words......"are Zhu Zhu pets really safe?" But all is well now and apparently Mr. Squiggles will be able to take his rightful place under the tree. Thank goodness!!!! After all what would I do with the little fuzz balls that I paid well above retail for, errr I mean just a little above!!!!

PS. If anyone out there needs the plasic maze thingy, I have an extra!!!!

If you don't know what this post is about then you must not have children or turn on the T.V.

Gingerbread House

We had a pretty lazy weekend around here this past weekend. On Saturday the boys headed to Dallas for the Big 12 Championship game. Us girls hung around my house and watched football. I made the Pioneer Woman's Beef Stew and it was great! The football game turned out not to be much of a game, seeing as how Texas played just horrible. The best thing that came out of it was that Colt didn't cry like Tebow when he thought he had lost the game. I tried my hardest to teach B the hook'em horns, but little hands have a hard time with that. It looked like he was throwing up gansta signs all night.

On Sunday I promised B we would make the Gingerbread Train. I don't know why I continue to put myself through these things each year. I have no patience, and unfortunately these little cookie projects require that you have some. Anyhoo, my child loves these and we do one every year. So we built our train and it turned out, well like this.........

It doesn't matter what it looked like we had fun building it and B had fun eating most of the decorations.

B has been picking off pieces here and there, so I hope it last until Christmas!!

Show us your life Christmas Trees!

So I haven't been able to participate in Kelly's Korner "Show us your life" lately, but I'm back and today is "Show us your life Christmas Trees". So here we go. We have a few trees in our house, so I'll start with the main tree. A couple of years ago I started collecting Christopher Radko ornaments, I love them. The big tree is my Radko tree.

I love Radko because every year they come out with "year" ornaments and I get one of those and I also get one for each of the boys. Here is the 2009 ornament I chose.

In our kitchen area I have a small tree done in red and green only. It's just a fun very traditional tree. This tree is decorated a little more sparsely since it is in the room the kids hang out in. My little Jack is very curious and shatterproof ornament are great!!

In my office I have a white tree that is for me, and by that I mean girlie. Being the only female in the house definitely suits my personality, but the lack of pink is just terrible. So I have my tree, and it has just a enough pink to keep me happy!

Both of the boys have small trees in their rooms. Barrett's tree is done in ornaments that he loves; dump trucks, tractors, trucks, hunting Santa's, etc. He loves it and sleeps with it on every night. Jack has the cutest little blue tree that matches his blue and brown room. I know it's a little cutey patooty, but hey he is still a baby and I'm gonna milk it for all it's worth. No pun intended.

For more great trees head on over to Kelly's Korner blog!!! Merry Christmas Y'all!!

Canton Trip!

Today on this very cold day, my Mom, Christie, Mims, Jack and I decided to bundle up and head to Canton. It is Thursday after all, and Barrett the non-shopping child has school. I needed some ornaments for my girlie tree, and I knew Paul Michael would be just the place. Yes, I have a girlie tree, and please do not judge. Being the only female in the house I have a white tree in my office that I decided to do for me.

We had lunch at the Dairy Palace, YUM!!! My little Jack can put away some grilled cheese he loved it!! Then we headed over to the arbors and made our usually rounds. I was expecting a mad house seeing as how it's December and all, but is was very pleasant.

I found the cutest bunk beds for Barrett's room that I just MUST have. They are made out of willow and they are sooo cute, perfect for his cabin room. I can just see the two of them together. Ohhhh I so cute!!

I only got ornaments for my tree, that has to be a record for me at Canton. My mom did get Jack a pair of Mooshe shoes? They squeak and he thinks they are so funny! Now off to finish my tree and then Snow Village. Not looking forward to it, but I do love it when it's finished!

Thanksgiving at the Deer Camp!

I have managed to pull myself out from under all the suitcases, and Christmas Decor to finally post about our Thanksgiving. We had a great Turkey Day up in North Texas. I have come to terms with the fact that the majority of my Thanksgivings from here on out will be, not by my choice, at the deer lease. I really do enjoy being out there, for one I get to hunt....that is when my in laws are kind enough to accompany us as sitters. And second, I LOVE watching ALL my boys in their element.

This year was very special there were many firsts. We had my in laws and brother in law come with us, and it was also Jack's first holiday at the deer lease. Barrett had a special first, his first fishing experience and fish! Jack experienced a great first, his first chocolate chip cookie. Not sure what his thoughts on it were......

The weather was very good, usually the wind is blowing 90mph and it's freezing. This trip it was so pleasant! We sat outside by the fire and roasted marshmallows, watched football, and had a great Thanksgiving dinner!!

There are however a few problems about holidays in the woods.....FLIES (they drove me crazy) for every one I killed there were 4 more. Ugh!!, cooking in a trailer (not easy), and the fact that there isn't much for a 13 month old to do out there.

We all hunted hard, but no one had any luck. There were alot of deer just no trophys. Barrett lived outside, as usual. He cut limbs, built things, hunted, and absolutly loved it!!

Teresa, my MIL, was such a huge help she cooked, cleaned and watched the kiddos. It was all work and no play for her, we really enjoyed her being there. We were so happy to have most of the family with us, it made it alot more bearable for me. Err... .I mean fun!

Barrett had the best time fishing. Ryan had him all set up with his little pole. It was so cute I'm sure. I wouldn't know because he didn't take any pictures. LOL!! Just like a man Huh, well he didn't the first day at least. Us girls had run into town for some wine....I mean FOOD, and the boy's went fishing. When we returned Barrett came in to tell me all about the 3 fish he had caught and how fun it was. Me: Ryan, I hope you took pictures! Ryan: Well I forgot my phone and the camera. Me: Oh My!!!!! You have to be kidding! He Wasn't. But have no fear my sweet hubby took him back out the next and and got me a cute picture, glad it was cute cause it's the only one. They just never learn do they?

Thankful

I am Thankful for......

This........

and this........

Tonight while cooking a few things for Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner..... Yes I am cooking now, why; we will be at the deer lease and the trailer has a very small kitchen and an oven that will only reheat not cook things, I realized how THANKFUL I am.

I am thankful I have a God that lets me live, a wonderful husband whom I adore, two little angel boys who are the light of my life, health, great family, a successful business, and sooooo much more.

Sometimes we all....well most of us, sweat the small stuff and choose to look at the bad vs. the good. I am trying, each day to be grateful and happy with ALL I have and not want more. I have so much to be thankful for, the Lord has truly blessed me!!

I hope everyone has a Blessed Thanksgiving weekend!!!

Quick Lufkin Weekend

Ryan headed to the deer lease this past weekend. The boys and I didn't want to hang out alone. So, we headed to Lufkin on Friday, my sister and the rest of the family were there and we thought...why not!

I happen to be running some errands and see that the lighting of Rudolph the red nosed oil rig, was having the lighting ceremony on Saturday night. Yes, I said oil rig. For those of you not familiar with Lufkin. The city has an oil rig pump that they painted and lit up to be Rudolph. I thought that would be fun for the kiddos. Well I thought wrong. It was so crowded and it started kind of early and then you have to wait until dark for it to be lit up. So needless to say.......... we went, we waited, but we didn't stay to see ol' Rudy lit up.

The kids got their cute little antlers and I got my pictures, and that's what counts!! We went to pick up some Hibachi dinner and then drove the kids by so they could see him lit up!! It all worked out well, and we made it home just in time to see the Rebels pull of a VICTORY against LSU!!!!!!!!!! HOTTY TODDY!!!!!

We also went to see my Grandmother in her new place. We recently moved her to an assisted living apartment. We took the Great Grandkids by to visit Nanny, it is so hard to get a picture of all of them with her, but we did our best!!
