Potpourri House Lunch

On Wednesday the boys and I met Christie and Mary Michael for lunch at the Potpourri House, one of my favs. Christie's sister in law, Holly and her daughter Anna Claire were in town so they joined us too! It was a welcome surprise, Barrett loves Anna Claire! They had so much fun at together. Luckily they set us in a back room where we were mostly alone. Barrett and Anna Claire were so silly, but they had fun!



Mary Michael and Jack really wanted to get in on the action! There was an older couple in the same room as us, as we were leaving I apologized for all the noise and they just laughed and said "they were not bothered at all"!! HA!!

After lunch everyone came over to our house to play. Barrett and Anna Claire dug in the dirt and found buried treasure!! They found these cowboy hats how cute are they!!

Treacherous Tuesday!

Today we had quite the treacherous Tuesday! To start the day off I found Jack on the coffee table with his broom, throwing down my candles.



While in the laundry room I hear the sound of glass breaking, I run out to find Jack standing in "maker's mark" with broken glass surrounding him. Note to self he has figured out how to open the child proof cabinet things. Luckily he wasn't hurt! It took me all morning to get the smell of bourbon out of my kitchen!!

After that mess was cleaned up Jack and I had some lunch, he snuck off and I found him in my bathroom doing this...........



Oh Yes, toilet paper everywhere!!!

Really? It's only 11:30. This is going to be a long day!

Here is Barrett after school today...What is up with my children and tables today??



Jack was outside playing and managed to climb in the "baby stroller", that the girls from across the street brought over. He then fell through the back of the stroller!! HA!



I was finishing dinner up while B and Ryan were playing outside. Jack was hungry and hanging on my ankles, so I grabbed a bowl and put some in to cool. The doorbell rang and I ran to go get the door. While chatting with a neighbor I hear a crash, and shattering sound! I run to see what it is...it's my child that grabbed the very edge of the bowl and pulled it down off the counter. Hungry Much?!? Oh my it was just one thing after the other today! These boys, they keep me on my toes for sure!!

Mother's Day at "Chunky Cheese"?

For Mother's Day the boys woke me up with cards, and Barrett had a special gift that he made at school for me!!



My very thoughtful husband also had gotten me a card. While opening it, he told me
"Sorry if it's to much, they were all picked over." Gee Babe, thanks so much! Ha! He also informed me that he was going to get me a necklace, but he thought he'd better let me choose it or I wouldn't wear it. Ha! This man knows me ALL to well!!!

Why would any sane mother spend their Mother's Day at "chunky cheese" you ask? Well you would have to ask my SIL about that. Sunday was also my twin nephews, Braden and Bransen's birthday. So the whole family was driving down from Lufkin to go to "chunky cheese". Yes I know that it's actually "Chuckie Cheese", my despise for the place lead me to rename it. Ryan told me that I didn't have to go, but I felt like I should.





Jack was so scared of all the rides I made him get on, I thought he would love them but not so much!



Hopefully my children will never ask for a party at "chuckie cheese" it would most likely be closed for repairs at that time! HA!!

After the party everyone came to our house to recover visit. With Dori's four boys, Barrett and Kolby, we had our own baseball team! The boys played wiffle ball all afternoon, they had so much fun! It's times like that I wish even more that all B and Jack's cousins lived close to us!

It was a great mother's day despite the venue! I am so thankful to be a Mom to the most beautiful, and special little boys in the world!!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great Mother's Day weekend! We started the weekend off with a Friday night tball game. Barrett was super excited because Kolby and Nana were coming from Lufkin to watch him play. Kolby brought his new girlfriend Kayla, she is so sweet!





The boys played a great game once again! After the game we all went to have dinner at Posado's, it was a late evening for the boys for sure!! Since it was such a late night I just knew the boys would sleep late on Saturday, but no such luck:(





On Saturday we headed to the ballpark again to watch a friends son play ball, the boys had a blast running around and playing in the sand. After the ballpark the boys were playing outside with Ryan. He called me out and said bring the camera. I went out to find this....



It's MUD people, don't worry!!

Saturday night poor Jack got sick, he had a terrible cough and was all clogged up. The poor thing couldn't breath or sleep. I had to hold him almost all night so that he could sleep. It wasn't the best start to my Mother's day, but I love any snuggle time with my boys.

Since I had been up all night with Jack my wonderful husband got the boys up on Sunday morning and let me sleep in. He kept the boys out as long as he could, they were very excited to give me my cards! I love ALL of my boys so much!!

Kelly's Korner SYL...Baby Names

Over at Kelly's Korner blog it's another show us your life Friday! Today is baby names! I have never mentioned the significance of my boys names on the blog so here ya go!!

BARRETT TAYLOR

Barrett is my maiden name, I loved using it since my Dad only had girls and I wanted our name to carry on. Taylor B's middle name is the same as his Great Grandfather Papa Jack, Grandfather PawPaw, Dad, and Uncle Kolby.

JACK RYAN

Jack Ryan started out as a double name. I always wanted to have a child with a double name, I blame going to school at Ole Miss. Since I didn't have a girl and Jack was my last baby...we have Jack Ryan. I loved calling him Jack Ryan. Jack is for his Great Grandfather Papa Jack. Ryan is after my husband. Pretty soon after Jack Ryan was born, Barrett informed me that he wasn't calling him Jack Ryan he was going to call him "Jack". I also had a VERY strong fear that people would shorten Jack Ryan into...heaven forbid J.R. I just couldn't take that chance, no offense, I just personally don't like initial names.

That is the story behind our boys names, I love hearing about name significance and I love hearing all the cute names. Check out Kelly's blog for a ton of baby name fun!!

Hello my name is Kelly and I have a problem.......

Yes! We are still here....it seems like I haven't posted in sooo long, but I have good reason. I have been abducted by my new ipad!!!! I love it....sorry for the neglect blog. Here is a brief recap of what we have been up to this past week.

We had a tball game on Tuesday that was our closest one yet to winning!!!! Woo Hoo! The boys did great!! The opposing team we played on Tuesday had these cute noise makers that the coaches (obviously women coaches) made. Jack wanted one really bad during the game, so I thought those look easy enough; I'll make some. What was I thinking?!?!

They are easy, but EXTREMELY messy to make!

Water bottles and colored rice....simple right??





I have rice ALL over my house! There are two main suspects in the rice spill...Barrett and Jack. Although, I have pinned most of the damage on one!



Here is the somewhat finished product, I think I'm going to tie a red ribbon on them also. I think hope the boys will have fun with them.

Luckily, the manicure was scheduled for after this little project. All the nail ladies were conversing with each other, laughing. I explained to them the reason for black and red hands, and that I had tried everything to get it off. Alcohol, acetone, and soap and water. Nothing has worked so far! Ughhh!! The things we do for our kids!

In other fabulous news...Jack has finally quit screaming in the gym nursery!! Woo HOoo!!! I have figure out that a blanket and stuffed animal keep him soothed while I attend class. Just hope it lasts!! He conks out on the drive home. I have been driving a jeep with the top off and the boys love it!!

Flowers and Ladybugs

My boys are totally outdoors men!! They are both their happiest outside...which means I have to be outside. Now, I have no problem with that sometimes, but ALL the time? Really? Barrett stays out all day...which is fine because he can be left unattended. Jack on the other hand cries at the door to go out, and if he see B outside...he says "bubba" and gives me the sad eyes!! Oh me!!

Today Barrett found a ladybug and they both just loved it!! Of course B wouldn't let Jack see it because he said the would smush it!!





Jack picked me a flower and then Barrett had to join in on the action....he couldn't be outdone! Love these boys!!!!
