Hopping in!

Not much to blog about today. We had a fairly calm day, if you overlook the huge RED crystal light stain that now adorns my bedroom floor. AGHHHHHHHHH!!!

I was in the middle of a tantrum with Barrett about the stain when I walked out to get the stain stuff, and who is at my door but the UPS man. Double UGHHHH!! So not only is my carpet ruined, but the UPS man probably thinks I'm a psycho!!

I decided to make a cheesecake today, WHY? I'm not really sure, darn you Food Network! Our Nannie Murphy, who recently passed away had given me a spring form pan for Christmas and I decided to try it out. It was the first cheesecake I ever made and I know she would have been so proud.

It is Paula Deen's Pecan Praline Cheesecake. I don't think those 3 miles this morning are gonna be enough to make up for this!

So I just thought we would hop in and say hello! Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

Soccer Saturday

Well the Spring soccer season has begun, and Barrett is finally enjoying playing!! Whew! What a relief. He is loving practices and was so ready for his game today!

Saturday was our first game and it was a beautiful day!! Here is Jack ready to get out of the stroller and hit the field, he runs out there with the big boys every time.

Barrett got to be team captain for the day, and he went out with the coach for the toss, or something?

Carefully listening to the coach!

On his way to score one of the two goals he made!!

The boys played great, and I was so proud of my B-man! The Falcons Won!!!!!

After the game one of B's teammates said "hey Barrett come get a snack with me!" and off they went with his friends little brother in tow. How cute is this!!

Fabulous Friday!

Friday was another beautiful day! The boys spent most of the day playing outside and I spent it doing laundry which was not so fabulous!

Jack is turning out to be just as outdoorsy as B-Doodle is. He sits at the door and whines and bangs on it to "go outside".

Barrett set up an obstacle course for the lawnmower, he just couldn't understand why Jack couldn't grasp the idea.

Jack had a better idea, he wore the cones like a hat! Barrett could miss out on that either.

I am just loving this weather, although my house is not. I just want to stay outside all day, not clean house and wash dishes:( Boo!!!! I am so glad Spring has sprung!!

Hump Day

We had a fairly low key Wednesday. I had to go to Hobby Lobby for a few project supplies I am working on, so Christie and Mary Michael joined us. I am using a blog friends so cute idea for jewelry organization, I will show pics when I finish it! After Hobby Lobby we decided we were going to try Smashburger and new restaurant in Tyler. Well, we thought wrong! I was so crowded we couldn't find parking and I knew there would be no chance for a table. So since we had the little ones we didn't want to make them wait, we headed to a favorite that was close by. After lunch we headed to Steinmart for a little shopping and then it was nap time for the babies.

During the afternoon it was rainy off and on so we had to play inside, which always leads to screaming and dancing in the den. Sounds fun huh?

Ryan called me and said he was taking me out for dinner! Woo Hoo! Jack ended up with the phone. It's so funny every time he finds a phone, any phone he picks it up and says "da da?" I told Ryan, that is a sign you should work a little less! That's how he thinks of Daddy, HA HA!! Just kidding babe, I love that you are such a dedicated husband and father!

Ryan took me to a wonderful dinner at Shoguns!

Ryan's dad hadn't arrived to keep the kiddos yet. So I stuck Barrett on the highchair, got him lined up and said push this button to take our picture. He did a pretty good job!

Off to Lufkin this morning to get my hair did, FINALLY!!! Have a great Thursday everyone!!!

Hello Sunshine!

WOW! It was sunny today, and we enjoyed every ray of it!! Barrett was so glad to see the sun, he said "HEY, I can play outside today!"

We started out the day with Barrett's favorite breakfast, cinnamon stars. I really think it's his favorite because he gets to help make them!

This is Barrett's grass from school he is soooo proud of it! He wanted me to put a picture on the computer, which means the blog. He is really concerned about cutting it. "Mom it can't get to tall, we don't let our yard get tall." Well sweetie, it's a little different.

Being that it was such a beautiful day and I didn't know how long it would last. We decided to plant some flowers and cut back some dead things to get ready for Spring!!

We headed to Lowe's for some goodies. While we were checking out in the garden center, the sweet cashier let Barrett scan everything! She handed him the gun and said can you use this? Barrett said "Yes! I love guns!" Great, good one buddy. Now I am dreading another trip to the store and he asks the cashier if he can do it, that's gonna be fun.

Here is B with all HIS plants, ready to get working! Luck for us it was naptime for Jack. While he slept we worked, and I mean we really worked. First we planted our herbs and flowers. Next, we worked on all the outside trucks and toys cleaning them out. We had tractors and trailers coming out of our ears! When that was finished he said, "Mom don't go in yet, we can find something else to do." So I decided we could clean all the windows, Barrett loves to wash and squeegee the windows off. Whew.....I wasn't planning on doing all that! Needless to say, I had a fabulous time with my worker B!!

Here is a few pics of our gardening.....if you could really call it that!!

I wanted pics because with B outside all the time, they will most likely not look like that for long!

When Jack woke up we took him out to swing! He loves it, he almost goes into a trance, so funny!!

Hope everyone enjoyed this wonderful day as much as we did!!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a wonderful weekend at the Hopson house. On Saturday we went to Tyler with SuSu, Christie and Mary Michael to have lunch at The Fish City Grill. Then we headed to the zoo. WOW! We rarely go the zoo on a weekend, now I know why. Oh my it was soooo crowded. It was fun because SuSu was with us!

I let Jack get out of the stroller and run free he loved it!

That is more than I can say for the goats in the petting zoo. He was not to interested in them! I couldn't believe he wouldn't touch them.

Mom these pink birds are cool!

SuSu and Barrett got all the kiddos these stuffed monkeys, that they love. Well, except for Mary Michael she wasn't to sure about hers, Ha ha!

After the Zoo, SuSu came over and cooked the family a fabulous meal of crab and chicken! We sat outside by the fire and enjoyed our wine, while the kiddos played. Barrett practiced t-ball with his Paw Paw. I really think he is going to love playing t-ball!! We can't wait until the season starts.

On Sunday we went over to SuSu and Big B's Mineola house for brunch. Christie and I thought about going to see Alice in Wonderland, but we decided to go later in the week. Ryan kept Barrett at the dealership to work. So Jack and I headed home on a rainy Sunday. Jack napped and I read, I am all most finished with "Breaking Dawn", I know I just started reading the series. I am behind, I don't get much time to read. I am kind of sad, I don't want the series to be over :(

My dad snapped this picture on his phone of Barrett working at the dealership this weekend. They had all gone inside and left Barrett out playing. When they came out they found this..........

My little man had gone out to the barn and found his old tractor. He used an umbrella stand like a jack to put the tractor up on, and he was disassembling it. He is so his Daddy's son! He cracks me up. Tonight while getting him ready for bed he said, "Mommy, you are the best Mommy in the world". I told him thank you and that I loved him so much. He said "Mom do you know why?" Me: No? Why? "Because you do things for me." Oh be still my heart!! He is a little bit like his Mom too, because he knows just how to get his way! HA!!!

Slipper Day and a Big Fall!

Today was slipper day at school, guess what I forget. This morning after I got Barrett ready he says, "MOM, today is slipper day!" OH NO! I knew about slipper day and had even looked for some at Wally World earlier in the week, to no avail I might add. I had totally forgotten about it until five minutes before we left for school!

I had to think fast! Barrett how about we use your Max claws from your Halloween costume? He hesitantly agreed, I say better than nothing!

Here B is in his "slippers", you can see he was not to thrilled with my choice, but I think they worked out just fine!

While Barrett was at school Jack and I hung out at home. It was a very peaceful day until Jack decided he was going to climb on a chair and nose dive off onto a metal table. Oh yes, my monkey child fell onto the bottom of a wrought iron table and now looks like this.................................

He cried for a split second, I dash in pick him up to inspect the damage and he looks at me and laughs!! Oh my goodness, he gave me a heart attack and then laughs at me!!

I got an icepack and he tried to put it everywhere but on the boo boo! I am so glad the little pumpkin is o.k.!! Boys will be boys!!
