Tour of Kindergarten and Baseball

Today with Barrett's pre K class we took a field trip to the Lindale Early Childhood Center, or Kindergarten! Oh my goodness!! I can't believe the time has come for B to go to kindergarten. The school was so great, everyone was very helpful. Barrett seemed to like it. Everything looked so big to him, he said "Mom it's going to be hard for me to remember my way around here!" HA HA!! I got him all registered and we will find out who our teacher is in August.

Me and my boys before we left.

I don't know who is more nervous about kindergarten Barrett or me!! All the other Mom's were laughing telling me my life is about to drastically change! Tell me about it, I have to get a child to school every day by 8:05?!?! That is going to be a challenge to say the least!! Also I can say goodbye to long weekends at the beach, when I don't feel like going home until Monday. OHHH my!!!

How cute are the kiddos!!

Poor Jack he didn't like the tour! I think he thought he was going to the nursery like at the gym, HA!!

Mom don't leave me here!!!!!

Thursday evening Barrett had a tball game. Barrett had two GREAT hits both into the outfield and he brought in runs and scored 2 runs himself. We didn't win but the boys didn't care either way, they had a blast!! Jack was running around the ballpark climbing in people's chairs, taking their phones and drinks. It kills me because Barrett would have never done these kind of things, he was so shy and sheltered. Not Jack!! I laugh because he was playing in the dirt, filthy and I call him a "walmart baby"!! LOL!!

See what I mean!!

Running it home!

Go Dragons!!! We will be ballparking it again tonight! I used to say "I would never let a childs sporting events control my schedule!" Eating your words tastes HORRIBLE!! My mother and sister in law are laughing histerically right now!!!

Wednesday Wash

Yesterday we stayed at home and did laundry tons and TONS of laundry!! I don't know if I am ever truly "caught up", but I finished every load. Now I have the daunting task of putting it away!

For breakfast yesterday I made the most fabulous "Caramel Coffee Ring". I found the recipe from my friend Leslie's blog. And in honor of Leslie I will use her quote to describe it "merciful heavens" it was soooo good!! It is super simple and easy! She has the recipe on her blog. Try it you won't be sorry!! Also I would like to say a little prayer for Leslie. Today she is delivering her 3rd baby, and she was good and didn't find out the sex. I could never do that, no patience anyone? What a truly great surprise!! I think it's a girl, but we will see!!

This morning we are going on a field trip to the Kindergarten!! Oh my goodness! I hope I don't cry, can't believe it's time to register B for K-5! I will blog more later, I'm trying not to cry!! HA HA!! Have a great Thursday!!

Back to the Beach

This past weekend we headed down to the beach! Thankfully beach season is back again! Barrett has been begging to go, so after t-ball on Friday night we drove to the coast. I was hesitant about the late night drive, but it worked out fabulous the boys slept the whole way :0!!! We arrived about 1:30 a.m. and about 2 o'clock a wind storm blew in. I was a little scared, we had 65 mph winds! It was crazy, I can't even imagine what an actual hurricane is like. We lost power for a few hours, but eventually it came back on. Saturday morning was beautiful!

The boys had a blast! I didn't take that many pictures, I was to busy making sure Jack wasn't picking up jellyfish or eating sand!! Wow, it was crazy, last year at the beach he wasn't walking. Now he's running down the beach, let's just say this year there will not be much lounging for me!

Mom, I'm going to eat this, look at me!

OH, this is really gross!

Ryan was commenting on how Barrett's swimsuit looked a little small. I said well I haven't cleaned out his beach swimsuits in a while. I called him over to check out the size......Yes my 5 year old is wearing a 2T. Ok B, I think it's time we put that swimsuit away!!!

SuSu and Big B got the kiddos a new water side, the last one is now being enjoyed by whoever STOLE it!! Anyhoo, Barrett insisted trying out the new one, even though it was a little cool for it.

He was living it up...at first. After a while I caught him sitting at the top of the slide shaking! UMMM, I think it's time to get off now buddy!

We had a fabulous time, as usual! I can't wait to go back. It was so hard to leave on Monday, but t-ball games were waiting!

A Cinderella Story, Literally!

Today over at Kelly's Korner she is doing "Show us your Life", How you met your husband. There are some really cute stories listed. So here is my "Cinderella" story...kind of!

Ryan and I grew up in the same small town in East Texas. He was two years older than me. Looking back I know we were always around each other, but we didn't "know" each other. His sister danced at the same studio I did, football games, etc. I really met him while he was dating one of my good friends, older sister. I remember we were at Lake Sam Rayburn. My parents were out of town and I was staying with my friend for the weekend at her family's lake house. Ryan was dating said friends sister, and came down to the lake to be with her. That was our first actual introduction, sure we had seen each other around, but now we knew each other. I remember the whole weekend Ryan had to drive us around on the boat. Since he was older he was just so put out , by all the younger girls annoying him! HA HA! After that weekend I didn't see him for a few months.

Ryan....

Kelly....

Time passed quickly, and his previous relationship ended. One steamy August night a few girl friends and I were driving around our neighborhood. We stopped at Anderson elementary school parking lot to talk to some friends, somehow or another I lost one of my shoes?!? I was dark and I couldn't find the shoe, we had to race home to my friend Jenny's house because it was almost 9:00! At the time a few of us had licences, but they required we stop driving at 9:00 p.m. We zoomed home in "Cherry", Dana's red sunbird convertible. Please tell me we are not the only people who named our cars?

When we arrived home at Jenny's we were talking outside. Her neighbor a friend of ours was also outside and he happened to have a friend over visiting, and that friend was Ryan.

Ryan and I started talking and I told him about my shoe getting lost and us having to leave in a hurry etc..... He offered to take me back up to the parking lot to look for my shoe. So this is how I met my prince charming, he literally found my missing shoe!! Note: This was 1995 and the shoe may or may not have been a jelly maryjane. A hideous trend at the time that I don't recall participating in, but can't totally deny.

The following night Ryan called me, we talked on the phone for hours!!! I know people will think I am crazy, but I told my friends that night, that I was going to marry him. And I did!! We starting dating when I was 15 and Ryan was 17 and have been together since. We made it through some difficult times that only made us stronger. We got married on October 13, 2001. He is the love of my life!! I thank God everyday for him, he is truly my Prince Charming!!

We have been together for 15 years!! Married for 8, almost 9! Love ya Babe!!

TarJay Monday!

Monday Christie, Mims, the boys and I headed to Tyler for a TarJay run! Christie and I were dying to get these Cynthia Vincent shoes.................

While in Tyler we decided to have lunch at a new place we have been wanting to try, Smashburger. It was really good!! I had a salad that was really great, and Christie had a burger. They have great onion strings and french fries, next time we are trying the veggie frites. After lunch we made a Walmart run and then headed home poor Jack was still feeling under the weather. Hope everyone had a great Monday!!

P.S. If anyone is looking for a pair of these fab sandals, I have an extra pair size 10.

Sports filled Weekend!

Friday morning Barrett requested outer space pancakes. In Dallas last week I got the boys some pancake molds they are so cute! So I attempted to make them, I couldn't get the pancakes to unstick from the molds. The boys were getting anxious so I scrapped the molds and just did letters!! Hey, they tasted good and that is all that matters.

We did a little yard work outside. I can't keep Jack inside these days, he cries at the door begging to go out ALL the time!!!

Friday night Barrett had his first T-ball game! Daddy brought a jeep home for us to ride to the ballpark in. The top was off and the boys just loved it!!

How cute is this little man in his uniform!! Ahh, I love it! It was just a scrimmage luckily, our boys needed the practice!! We did pretty good. Barrett got some good hits and I was so proud of him!!

Jack had a blast walking around the ballpark, I was chasing him everywhere. Big B and Paw Paw came to watch B play. My Dad was joking with me saying, the ballpark was the last place he thought I would be. My thoughts exactly. HA HA!!

Saturday morning Barrett had a soccer game, Su Su came over to ride with us. Christie and Paw Paw were going to meet us at the game. While we were walking up I see our team at our usual field, but I hear someone calling me. I turn around and it's one of the other Mom's and she says, "Y'all missed the game, it was at 9:00 today." Me: What??? I can't believe this we have NEVER had a game at any other time than 10:00!!!! My crazy self didn't check the schedule, because who knew that every game EXCEPT this one would be at 10:00!! Oh well. We were able to catch everyone else before they came to the soccer field. So we headed home to wait for our next sporting event which was our T-Ball tournament.

It was so cute at the game they got all the teams on the field for an opening ceremonies thing. The boys counted down and the Mayor threw out the first pitch! It was so cute! Poor Jack wasn't feeling good on Saturday, he had a rash all over and just wasn't acting himself. I thought it was a heat rash, but at the game the poor baby started running a fever. Luckily SuSu was there to take care of him. Christie and Mims were also there to cheer on the Dragons!!

Barrett got to play catcher, but he wasn't to sure about the whole get up that he had to wear!!

We had a great time B made some good hits, every time he got to third our team would be on the second out and he was never able to get to home. I so wanted him to get a run, but we have plenty more time for that!! We lost the game so we were out of the tournament, the boys didn't seem to notice. They all got medals and they were SO happy!!

I can tell I am in for something else! Some of these baseball parents really get into the games! LOL!!

Sunday we had a lazy day at home. It was rainy and poor Jack was feeling terrible. Sunday night while watching the ACM Awards Barrett put on his boots, cowboy hat and even brought out his guitar. He then decided to put Jack in his get up!! BONUS, Miranda Lambert won two awards!! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!

Field Trip Thursday

Thursday Barrett's class had two field trips, one to the Donut Palace and then to the Library. I met up with the class at the Donut Palace. The school is close so the classes walked, taking a tour of our town on the way. I see the kiddos walking up and who is holding hands walking together? Well, Barrett and Sophia of course!

The owners of the Donut Palace were so nice. They had a table set up for the kids to make their own donuts. Can you say mess!!

They took the kids on a tour and let them see how to make donuts and all the other goodies. I can't believe that our little Donut Palace makes about 5000 donuts a day, and they only throw out about 100 or so. Lindale, this is a wake up call! HA!!

Here is B "making" his own donut!

Inseparable these two!

Mom, what is this?

Whatever it is, it's good!

After the "Donut Palace" the kids walked to the Library. Future note: donuts should come after the Library. Getting the kids all hyped up on sugar and then asking them to sit and be quite in the Library doesn't go over to well!

It was a great tour of our city! After school on our trip to Sonic, B says to me. "Mom, I wish God had made it where I could marry two girls." Me: Well honey, you can only have one, why would you want that? B: Because, Sophia and Taegan are both my favorite. Right now I'm thinking did he watch a little "Big Love" with me??? HA! I explained that he isn't getting married for a long time, so let's not worry about that. I guess when your five the pressure is sneaking up on you about marriage and all??? CRAZY!!

Day in Dallas

On Wednesday the boys and I accompanied Christie and Mims to Dallas. Mary Michael had an appointment for her "hat", and we decided to make a day of it. On our drive Barrett asked us is we could stop and eat at the "Dairy Queen Palace", i.e. the "Dairy Palace" in Canton. Umm, No Buddy, I think we will wait until Dallas. While entering Dallas Barrett exclaims, "Mom were in a spaghetti O Bowl!! We started off at the Doctors office, every time we go to this office my children are wild. It must be the drive to Dallas, because as soon as we get into the office they just start running around all over the place. Mims and Jack were chasing Barrett around, they just get silly!!

They are all fighting over the same toy, I mean really? If this were at home no one would even touch that toy.

Mary Michael got a good progress report, she only has to wear her "hat" for four more weeks!

After the doctor we headed for Northpark, our favorite shopping place. Northpark always has some sort of Kids Program going on. Wednesday did not disappoint there was a group singing and dancing, we got there for the very end. The kiddos also love the turtles and duck pond at the mall.

These two could have stayed there all day, they were having a ball with all the kids and animals to look at. Mims was so funny, she has gotten very boisterous lately. I could hear her squeals above everyone!! So cute.

We then headed to lunch at the "Cheesecake Factory". We sat outside on the patio, it was such a pretty day!

After lunch at the "Cheesecake Factory" what could you possibly need? Well "Pinkberry" of course. We skipped on the cheesecake, so we could try Pinkberry frozen yogurt. Christie and I had been dying to try it, everyone just raves about it. Well, no hate mail please. It's nothing to go crazy over, it's just frozen yogurt. Oh well! We had a great day and the kids were worn out, what more can you really ask for!
